Chloe is a complex girl sometimes. On the way to therapy this morning I look in the rearview mirror and see she is crying. I said “Why are you crying’? She replies “No school on Wednesday”. I said “No you don’t go to school on Wednesday, just Tuesday and Friday”. She was just quiet after that.
She is doing so well at school. Her teachers said she improves every week. My guess is it’s just separation anxiety. I hate that she and I can’t sit and talk things out. I reassure her that at 2:00 I am waiting in the car line for her. She seems to understand. Her teacher tells me by lunch she is asking about me and the car line. I just want her to relax.
Emotions are one of her biggest areas worked on in therapy. She struggles with a few of them. I also work with her at home. I talk about them constantly, especially on her moodier days. We have been watching the movie Inside Out a lot. I talk to her about the emotions throughout the movie. It is a great one for learning about emotions🙂
I’m working on a few activities about emotions with her. I am going to share those with you at the end of the week. I want to get back to sharing more of our at home learning and therapy activities with you. I apologize for gaps in posting. Life’s been busy lately. Now we are back to school and on a better schedule.
I hope all of you are staying healthy. Thanks for stopping by today 😍
