First Day of Our New Curriculum ๐Ÿ˜Š

Good Monday Morning

It is a typical Monday in our house. Chloe is moving S L O W. That’s ok with me since I woke up with a killer sinus headache ๐Ÿ˜”

We ran a few errands, ate lunch and then got started. We worked on addition and subtraction flashcards on the couch. Then we moved to the table to work through her binder. The binder is just something she always likes to have. It’s full of dry erase sheets to practice her name,ย  address and phone number. I also added in a few tracing sheets. She loves those! Then we moved on to counting coins.

Next we moved on to working on “bl” blends. I had her tell me words that begin with bl. 15728894203393298947808562889076

We wrote them on the dry erase board. I did order some phonics flashcards from Amazon for $2.99 . Chloe has always learned a lot better when she uses flashcards. She struggles with blends while reading, so we are working extra hard on learning them.

I let her binder work be her writing today. She did a lot of writing in it. Reading took place outside. I didn’t get any pictures because we were just enjoying reading together. While she played I read another chapter of Little House on the Prairie and our Bible Lesson.

I had her collect pine cones in the yard and we worked on more, less and equal to. I had a hard time keeping her focused. It is definitely a Monday๐Ÿ˜‰ We brought the pine cones in and put them in a glass vase on the kitchen table. She thought that was funny.

We watched a video on YouTube called How Corn Grows by Courtney Hoover. We then played in a bin of corn kernels. She wasn’t super interested. We did look at the corn fields while we were out running errands this morning and we talk about where the corn went.

That’s all I could get her to do today, which was plenty. I would say Day 1 was a success๐Ÿ˜Š

Now back outside to enjoy this beautiful Fall Day๐Ÿงก
