I have really enjoyed learning about frugal living over the years. There are so many ways to save money. The hardest part of living this way is staying on track during stressful times or even a hard day. It’s easier sometimes to just get take out or buy more processed food because its quicker to make. Shopping when stressed or bored is easy to do to. We are all human and make mistakes. I have been guilty of these things more often than I want to admit. Ugh🙄
So how do I get back on track? Here are things I do that helps.
Stay out of the stores. No window shopping.
I keep a list of items we need, such as clothing, shoes and personal items.
When shopping for needed items I check Goodwill first (or other consignment stores).
Look for sales at stores. Sometimes you can get a great deal for a new item. I buy a lot of my tops at Walmart because they fit me well and are a good price. I check clearance as well.
Keeps needs minimal. If you live a minimal lifestyle you won’t need to buy a lot. I love having a minimal wardrobe😊
Always keep your goals in mind. Why do I want to live this way? Write your goals down and post them where you can see them.
Continue to research new ways to save money. I actually think this is fun😀
Meal Plan and Budget. These are 2 very important tips. Have a grocery budget. Meal plan and stay within your budget.
Find free places to go for family outings. We love going to parks and on walking trails. In the Fall you can take a picnic lunch to save money on eating out.
Be Content. If you are content with what you have you won’t want to go shopping.
I actually do not like shopping. It stresses me out to spend a lot of time in a store. I always joke that I’m not your typical woman. Lol.
So I try to stay on track by reminding myself how much I love frugal living and how beneficial it is. Remember if you have a slip up don’t get upset with yourself. Just get back on track and keep working towards your goal.
