I am an anxious person and have been for as long as I can remember. I have worked very hard to lesson the stress in my life for awhile now. Minimizing stuff has helped some, except for Chloe’s room of course🙄 Keeping Chloe on a schedule also helps, but she still gets super wound up from 3 pm on. I’m hoping to figure out a medication free way of calming her. She gets WILD!!
One area I am determined to do better is with Homeschool. The past 2 years I have put so much pressure on myself to be the best homeschool Mom. Everything must be perfect and Chloe must do all of her work. I was so stressed😫
This year I am not going to worry if Chloe doesn’t do all of her math. If she does one activity, that’s good enough. If we start our homeschool at 12pm instead of 9 am that is ok. If she writes on her Magnadoodle instead of in her writing notebook that is ok. She is still writing 👍 If she reads books all day that is ok too.
Learning happens all day everyday. It doesn’t have to be perfect . I will not compare my homeschool to anyone else’s. I believe that is what causes homeschool moms so much stress. When you are new you check out homeschool blogs and YouTube vlogs for ideas. You see what looks like perfect homeschool rooms and pretty shelves of curriculum. You try to copy it and BAM it doesn’t work for your home.
You have to figure out what works for your children. Some learn slower and others need more challenges. Just slow down and figure it out. It took me 2 1/2 years to figure it out! I’m way more comfortable this year and if Chloe has a bad day and can’t focus I’ll be ok with it.
So take a deep breath, do your best each day and create a stress free homeschool for your family.
