A Stressful Trip To Aldi And Lots Of Swimming

Good afternoon. I hope all of you are having a blessed day. Our day has been interesting. I have mentioned before that Chloe doesn’t like going to stores, especially grocery stores. There are times when I have no choice but to make her go. Well today was one of those days. She seemed ok with going at first, but when it was time to get out of the car she froze up on me. She kept grabbing me and making noises. I urged her to keep walking and let me tell you she isn’t easy to move. It took us about 5 minutes to get inside the store. I only needed 2 items and kept telling her “It’s ok we will get our 2 items and leave”. Chloe dug her feet into the floor even harder. Then she started chewing her fingers and licking her lips. I tried to get a picture, but couldn’t get a good one, plus she needed me. I take pictures sometimes for her pediatrician. Yes people were staring and kids were looking at her and walking away. We finished and got to the car. Chloe was very relieved..

When we got home I fixed lunch and said ” Do you like going to Aldi”? She looked at me and said “No stores, oh people”! She then said “I need swim”.  Sitting in her pool calms her, so that’s where we are now. I want her to experience “normal ” things without fear, but that is one of those things that will come in time. All we can do is keep trying to take her places and let her know she is safe with us.
